World Circular Economy Forum 5 - 7 June, 2017: Helsinki, Finland
The Forum gathered together the most recognised experts and decision makers in the field and presented the world's best circular economy solutions. The circular economy presented new and unprecedented opportunities to create wealth and wellbeing, as well as how it is the essential engine to achieve the ambitious UN Agenda 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals.
Participants attending the event shared experiences and learnt of the best solutions that allow businesses to gain a competitive advantage, create more value and generate new growth and jobs in societies around the world. The event programme consisted of 17 plenary and parallel sessions showcasing circular economy solutions for business, cities and finance.
The programme offered a variety of side events and business excursions. The Boulevard of Opportunities offer circular economy solutions presented on the marketplace, where participants can share ideas and visions on the opportunities stage and meet interesting new people at the Lakeside chats.
During WCEF 2017, the UN International Resource Panel (IRP) held its meetings in Helsinki and launched new reports. The IRP consists of world leading scientists on issues related to sustainable management of natural resources and circular economy. While meeting in Helsinki, Panel members also contributed to WCEF 2017.
